Little Ruby's Log Cabin {a finished quilt!}

This quilt top was finished in May 2018. I quilted it later that summer and it has been languishing in a pile of quilts in the guest bedroom since then, just waiting for binding!

I have no idea why I sometimes set things aside like that. I’m assuming I was in a rush to get to the next project and then gradually this one slipped my mind. It’s shameful really, because I think it’s gorgeous and can’t wait to put it on the guest room bed instead of sitting unfinished in a stack!

I used the red and aqua fabrics from a Little Ruby fat quarter bundle by Bonnie & Camille matched with a charcoal gray cross weave to piece the log cabin blocks. I love the contrast it creates.

The prints from this collection are small and so sweet!

For the quilting, I did an all over floral motif that is one of my favorites. It creates a beautiful texture, especially after it’s been washed and dried.

I have a new quilt I started earlier this month and once it’s complete, I’m hoping to knock out another quilt that’s been sitting waiting for binding next. Then I’ll find one of those quilt tops just waiting for quilting! My goal is to get my list of “works in progress” down to 1 or 2 by the end of 2020. With this one done, I’m down to 9. Wish me luck!
