Completed Swoon block quilt
So, with one week's notice, I did it! I quilted this Swoon block for my son's teacher this weekend (thankfully it was a 3 day weekend, or I probably wouldn't be done yet!)
I would have to say that Mrs. Mel is one lucky lady that Sam loves her so much because now that it is done, I'd like to keep it for myself ;-). He's very excited and says that she is going to LOVE it and I hope he is right.
Sam picked out all of the fabrics for the quilt (all solids, no flowers!!) and I think he did an amazing job.
I quilted it with straight lines every half inch radiating out from the center point. I think the quilting really sets off the block and also love the way the quilting shows on the solid gray back.
I added corner hanging pockets in case she would like to hang the quilt, but she could also use it for a table topper. Here is another close up of the quilting...
I have two favorite things about this one, the quilting and Sam's quilt label. I helped him with some of the writing, but it contains his words and his signature. I love his sweet and giving heart. I pray that part of him never changes. :)
So, after that short, but worthwhile quilting interruption, now it's back to my other projects.
I hope you all have enjoyed the holiday and taken time to reflect on those who have given the ultimate sacrifice so that we may enjoy the wonderful freedoms we have in this country.
God Bless,
Amanda
