W.I.P Wednesday {Independence Day!!}

Happy Independence Day to all of my USA readers!  We've had a great day so far starting with a 4th of July parade and then cookout/pool party afterward.  Thank God for the pool, because it is just too hot to be outside without one! I've made some progress this week, but while cleaning out my sewing room found all of my OLD W.I.P.s which was a bit depressing.  One of them was done, but just needed binding and it has been sitting folded all pretty on the shelf for a couple of years now...what is wrong with me?!?!  I really can get distracted by new projects.

Below is a 30's Sampler quilt that I have now prepared the binding for and hope to get that done this week.  I have a feeling this one will be hanging on my newly painted sewing room walls shortly :-)

I have discovered after finding all of these older projects that when I finish piecing the top I want to move right along to the next project.  My list of projects that need to be quilted is the longest.

I had a couple that just needed borders and I managed to get the borders on my strip quilt below.

I just love the colors in this one.  It will be "Mommy's" sofa quilt since the boys both already have their own :-)

I also finished piecing my Pezzy Lattice quilt and just love the way it turned out.  I can't wait for the backing fabric to arrive so I can get the quilting done on it.

The gray with all of these colors just seems perfect!

So, here are my lists now that I have cleared the closets...

W.I.P.s:

  • Women of  Courage BOM
  • 1st Saturday BOM

Needs Borders:

  • Verona Jelly Bean

Ready to Quilt:

  • Pezzy Lattice
  • Strip quilt
  • Pineapple quilt
  • Jacob's Ladder quilt
  • Hexagon table topper
  • Trip Around the World quilt

Ready to Bind:

  • Batik table runner

Backburner (the really old ones that I'm not ready to pick up again yet!):

  • Homespun quilt
  • Birdhouse wallhanging

Okay, hopefully writing these down and admitting my bad habits will help me to get better at actually finishing some projects!

Don't forget to check out the other WIPs over at Freshly Pieced where Jess is guest hosting.

Have a blessed day and a Happy 4th of July!!

Amanda
