I can't believe August is almost over! I am however looking forward to a nice 3 day weekend. Even though it's all about drag racing this weekend in Indy and here at our house, I'm hoping to get some sewing done as well. Okay, now down to business. At the moment I'm working on my Groove quilt along with Alyssa and a couple hundred more quilters in the Totally Groovy QAL. All of my fabric is cut and I had started piecing the top, only to realize after I finished the second row that I had my colors in the wrong order. I even had my chart all color coded, just simply laid my stacks out in the wrong order and now I have to rip out a lot of seams. Poo :-(

So I don't have anything to "show" on this one just yet. I'm hoping after this mishap, I will get in the "groove" and the rest will be easy breezy...but not holding my breath!

I do have a couple of other things to share instead. My son had been begging me to let him join the ladies on one of our sew-in days. So, this month I decided to bring him along. He already knew exactly what he wanted to make...a new pillow. He picked the fabric and even quilted the top.

Yet again I love his fabric choices and think he did a great job. I helped him create an envelope style back and he loves that it has a "secret pocket". :-)

I made myself a little something as well. I really wanted a new purse and outside pockets have become a necessity in my opinion, so when I happened across Noodlehead's 241 Tote pattern, I knew it was perfect for me.
