Vintage Modern Wedding {a finished quilt!}
Happy Friday! I have another finished quilt to share this week, can you believe it?! This is #2 so far for 2013. Remember the quilt top I made last year that was inspired by my bathroom floor? Well, it has now become a wedding gift for my husband's cousin. :)
I finished the binding Wednesday night and took this photo before I washed it (of course it is in the dark!)
Here is a close up shot of the quilting pre-washing.
This is the first time I've tried to do a "fancy" free motion quilting design on the longarm and I'm so pleased with the way it turned out. This particular design is taught in book "Free Motion Quilting with Angela Walters". If you enjoy FMQ or are new and want to learn, I highly recommend this book. Angela has beautiful designs and explains them so well.
Since the quilt has been washed, it has snowed and I wasn't able to take outside photos (also the husband wasn't around to hold it up for me ;-) ) So, I did the best I could inside.
The below photo of the red block shows the quilting in a little better detail.
I used one of my favorite fabrics from the Vintage Modern line on the back and LOVE it!
There is nothing I adore more than the post-wash crinkle on a quilt. The texture just warms my heart.
Okay, I've started out 2013 going strong, let's see if I can keep it up!
