Happy Trips Around The World {finished wedding quilt}

Well, today was the bridal shower for my sweet cousin and Mom and I were able to deliver this "happy" scrappy trips around the world quilt.  She is a lover of color (especially pink), so we were hoping this would suit her well.

Of course after Mom and I started making the scrappy trips blocks with these beautiful batik fabrics, we both decided that it was so gorgeous we may need one for ourselves :)

I just love batiks and the way they all seem to go together even though they don't "match".  The colors are so rich and vibrant, and put all together into this scrappy trip just seems perfect!

I quilted it in an allover loopy meander using Aurifil 50 wt #2420.  It was the perfect shade to go with all of these colors... blending in and standing out just enough.  Mom finished it off with the perfect scrappy binding.

 

We had one extra block, so we decided to make it into a matching pillow.  Don't the quilt and pillow look so cute on Mom's back porch?!

Hopefully they will enjoy snuggling with them for many years together.
