Layer Cake Sampler QAL Week 3 {Blocks 5 & 6}

It's Friday...and around here that means two more blocks for the Layer Cake Sampler QAL!!  You guys are blowing me away with your gorgeous blocks on Flickr and Instagram!  I love all of the beautiful fabrics being selected. So, let's get right to it, here are today's blocks (and if you need to review the block piecing instructions, just click here.)

Block 5:

Block 5 is a happy star and I love how the stripes worked out in this block.  They frame the center so perfectly!  Below are a few more color options.  I really love the middle one and only came up with it after I finished my block.  I might have to make a quilt using that block alone :)

      

Block 6:

Block 6 is a diagonal stripe.  I pieced mine so that the colors are all together.  This is another one that would look great with an entire quilt made with just this block!  I'm also partial to the last color option below.  It is the one I used in my first Laker Cake Sampler quilt.
