W.I.P. Wednesday {9.10.14}

I have admired the beautiful variations of Modern Maple quilts for a couple of years now and last night I had the "urgent" need to whip up a mini version for our coffee table. Modern Maples table topper

It was so much fun to sew together and very satisfying to have a finished top in about 2 hours (that includes fabric selection, cutting and piecing!!)  My blocks finish at 12", so the top is 24" square.

I had originally pulled out a variation of yellow and orange prints to use for the leaves, but then found four Moda Fabrics - Grunge fat quarters from two of my very favorite lines (PB&J and Persimmon, both by Basic Grey).  The script print I used for the background is a Timeless Treasures print I believe, but I don't know the name.

Modern Maples

I can't wait to get this quilted, bound and set on our table for fall :)

Linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced.

Thanks for stopping by,

Amanda
