Pretty Zippy Pouches {a finish!}
Hi everyone! I know it's been a while since I've posted anything new on here, but summer and work have been keeping me busy. I'm certainly not complaining though :) Summer is my absolute favorite and I wish it would never end. I have been working on a few different projects that I can't share yet, but once I finished and shipped a couple off, I needed something quick and fun to whip up. I happened to see the most adorable zipper pouches on my friend Peta's Instagram feed and knew they would be perfect. I mean, just look at those beautiful Liberty of London prints paired with a cute piping and finished off with amazing metal teeth zippers!! Really just too good.
I happened to have a few fat eighth Liberty prints that I won as a giveaway some time ago. I thought this one would be perfect for some pouches...
The large floral print allowed me to get two pouches that look completely different and almost like they came from different fabrics. Here is side one of the larger pouch.
And here is side two. It's funny how just the two sides of this one pouch seem so different.
I didn't have any fancy zippers on hand, and wanted to use only items from my sewing room (no trips to the store...YAY!!). As a result, my pouches have mismatched zippers, but I kind of like that. I also used a different solid for the lining and piping for the smaller pouch. Here is side one.
And here is side two. This little pouch now holds my favorite colored Sharpie pens that I use for my planner. Not sure yet what I'll put in the larger one, but I'm sure I can come up with something :)
These were a fun, fast project that I really did find satisfying. If you'd like to make some pretty zippy pouches of your own, check out Peta's blog for details on purchasing the pattern.
Thanks for stopping by, I promise to post a bit more regularly now that school is back in session. Amanda
