Criss Cross {a finished quilt!!}
Do you remember at the end of August when I showed you five fat quarters that I was going to use in a new quilt design? Well, I'm finished!! I've named this quilt Criss Cross and am back today to share lots of photos :)
I've had this design in my sketch book for a couple of years now. So glad to finally have it in fabric.
This particular color layout came about as a result of the Five Fat Quarter Fun Contest being put on by Amber (Gigi's Thimble) and Amanda (Jedi Craft Girl). When they started this contest in August, I was excited to take on the challenge of designing a quilt using only 5 fat quarters and background fabric.
As I said in my previous post, the most difficult part of this quilt was selecting which fat quarters to use. I think my long debate on the issue paid off because these Mimosa fat quarters from Windham Fabrics seem perfect in this quilt.
The quilt top has been done for a few weeks while I debated quilting and then finally decided to stick with the basics...straight lines! I never get tired of straight line quilting.
And check out the quilt ladder that I bought while antiquing with my son today (thanks Mom for coming to our rescue with a bigger vehicle for hauling it home!!) It's going to be a lot more fun photographing quilts now :)
