Sew Goodness {a monthly charitable sewing challenge}

My friend, Amy Smart (Diary of a Quilter) has started the new year off right with a plan to "Sew Goodness".  She has created a monthly charitable sewing challenge.  You can find all of the details about her plan here.

I have decided to join her and hope to be able to participate each month.  This month, I chose to make some pillowcases as part of American Patchwork & Quilting's ongoing One Million Pillowcase challenge.  If you are like me, you probably have plenty of fabric in your stash without an intended purpose.  This is a perfect way to use up some of those fabrics!  I chose some prints that I thought would be fun for kids and stitched up 6 pillowcases.

My favorite is probably that top zoo animal pillowcase with the orange polka dot accent fabric.  So cute!!  These six are now ready to be donated to our local domestic violence women and children's shelter.

What is your favorite charitable sewing project? I'd love to hear what others sew to give back.
