Farmer's Wife {a finished quilt!!}
You may recall that I finished my Farmer's Wife quilt top back in January. I knew that I wanted to have something special done for the quilting, so I sent it to the amazing Natalia Bonner of Piece n Quilt. Get ready for an overload of photos, because she did an AMAZING job!!! Here is a quick shot I took when it was delivered back home. Look at all of that gorgeous texture! I sat and stared at this thing for probably hours that night :)
The full quilt all finished. I love how Natalia used a bit more modern quilting, especially on the borders. It really sets off the blocks so well.
And just look at those tiny pebbles in the white sashing strips. Perfect!
I told Natalia that I was a big fan of crosshatch and would love it incorporated anywhere in the quilt. She used it in several blocks like the one below with crosshatch in the white background.
I also love how she added feathers to some blocks for a mix of traditional and modern quilting.
Are you tired of looking at these photos yet? Too bad, I've got more to show! ;-)
A closer shot of the border quilting.
Just a few of my favorite blocks. More crosshatch in the basket below.
And she amazed me with the crosshatch along the dotted lines in the background on the bottom of this block. It's hard to see in this photo, but that was genius!
More feathers.
If I were to choose just one favorite...this is probably it. It was a favorite before it was quilted, but the texture Natalia added makes it even more of a stand out to me.
For the back I used a red and white Squared Elements print from Art Gallery Fabrics. Thankfully I had "just" enough in my stash and I think it works perfectly.
Thanks so much for indulging me with all of my photo sharing! I have a feeling this is a quilt that will be treasured by my family for generations.
