Radiance Blossom {a finished quilt!!}
Happy Tuesday! I’m back today to share another version of my Radiance pattern, this time the 36” size. For this quilt, I used some of my favorite shades of the Blossom basic line by Christopher Thompson (The Tattooed Quilter) for Riley Blake Designs. Blossom is such a great basic fabric because the flower blossoms are so tiny that they don’t distract from the overall color, but help to give to provide depth and movement to an otherwise solid fabric.
The shades I chose are so yummy together! If you are interested, the colors I used include Jade, Rainforest, Salmon, Apricot, Aqua, Peacock, Leaf and Sweet Mint.
For the quilting, I opted for a simple crosshatch. I think it turned out well and doesn’t distract from the overall quilt design. I can’t wait to see it after it’s washed, dried and all crinkly!
For the backing, I had a number of Fairy Edith fabrics that would have worked well with these colors, so I asked Christoper for his opinion. I think he chose perfectly when he selected the gray bouquet print!
Speaking of Christopher, I am so very thankful that he came into my life at QuiltCon several years ago. He has been an invaluable friend, advisor, confidant and all around blast to get to know. When you find “your people” it is such a blessing and when they are as supportive as Christopher has been to me, it’s priceless.
Have you used Blossom in any of your quilts? If you haven’t yet, I highly suggest you seek it out at your local quilt shop. It is also the perfect background fabric!
