Folkdance Block of the Month

Three amazing quilt designers, Karen Lewis, Jo Avery and Lynne Goldsworthy are the creative force behind The Thread House quilting pattern and retreat group. They are all fabulous designers on their own, but together they have come up with a fun new quilt pattern called Folkdance that they are offering as a block of the month. Sign ups are open now and they are set to begin the BOM in October. Just look at this quilt! By joining the Thread House Club, you will have access to all of the block patterns including video tutorials and a Facebook Group. This quilt includes all kinds of quilt skills - patchwork, appliqué and foundation paper piecing. I am looking forward to the appliqué video tutorials. That is one skill where I’m lacking ;-). The Thread House ladies were kind enough to give me advance access to some of the block patterns to help share the word about the block of the month. Below you can see my fabric pull for this quilt. These are all Riley Blake Designs Confetti Cotton solids. From top to bottom the color names are Caribbean, Rouge, Peacock, Marmalade, Vivid, Light Gray, Honey, Scuba, Bleached Denim and Azure.

The first block I pieced was designed by Lynne Goldsworthy and is called London Town. Now, who wouldn’t want to live in one of these cute townhouses?

The second block I pieced was designed by Karen Lewis and is named Desert Rose. This block is a real beauty!! I especially love the pop of marmalade.

And my third test block was designed by Jo Avery and is called Rock the Kasbah. This was a really fun block to piece and I love the name!

I think I’ll wait to piece the rest of the blocks with everyone else on the block of the month. Want to join us? If so, I have you can enter the code tthclubmaterial at checkout to receive 10% off your membership!
