Maple Leaf Table Topper {a tutorial!}
Fall has arrived and here in Indiana the leaves are finally starting to change colors and fall from the trees. Although summer will always be my favorite season, I do love the colors of fall! I also love to decorate for the season.
One of my favorite items to display is this pretty maple leaf table topper. I made this version several years ago, but when I saw the new Harmony fabric collection by Melissa Lee, I just had to get some so I could make another version for a friend.
Aren’t these gorgeous fall colors? And those deer are the cutest!!!
I chose a couple of the simpler prints from the collection in muted shades to really let the leaf shape be the focus. For the background fabric, I chose one of the prints from Riley Blake’s Hush Hush low volume collection called Trio. The shades in this print coordinate so well with the Harmony collection.
I chose one of the darling deer prints for the back and the purplish gray honeycomb print for the binding.
In the video below I share a tutorial for making this fun fall table topper and below are the fabrics you’ll need for each block.
~ Material Requirements For Each Leaf Block ~
Leaf Fabric: Two - 5” squares; Three - 4 ½” squares and One - 1 ½” x 7” rectangle
Background Fabric: Two - 5” squares and Two 4 ½” squares
The video shares multiple layout options for either a 24” square table topper or a 12” x 48” table runner. These blocks are quick and easy to make, so you still have plenty of time to get this completed for your table this season.
Thanks for stopping by!
