Scrappy Natural Beauty Quilt {Scrappy Trip Around the World}

Back at the end of 2020, I decided to pull these beauties from my stash and cut into them to make a Scrappy Trip Around the World quilt. The fabric collection is Natural Beauty by Amy Butler and the solids are a coordinating bundle that I purchased a couple of years ago with the collection. They were almost too pretty to cut into, but now that the quilt is done, I’m sure glad I did!

I sewed like a mad women over the New Year’s holiday and finished up this big quilt top on January 3rd. I absolutely LOVE this quilt!!

It sat around for several months until I could decide how to quilt it. I then gave it to my friend Michelle to work her magic and she did free-hand orange peel quilting on each square within the quilt block. She did such an amazing job and the texture it creates is so perfect!

I chose one of the smaller Natural Beauty prints for the binding.

Just look at all of that color!

It’s a big quilt finishing at 96” square and was a chore to get bound! For the pattern, I followed Alli’s tutorial from her website Woodberry Way. She shares all of the information you need to know if you’d like to make your own scrappy trip quilt!

I finally had my guys take me to the local park for some glamour shots of the finished quilt today.

I’m thinking this might be the quilt I need on my bed during those dreary winter months coming up! I’m pretty sure it would help my mood to walk by this on the bed each day.
