Winterland {my latest fabric collection!}
I’m really excited to share my latest fabric collection with you. Winterland is inspired by the beauty and wonder of the fresh fallen snow. The cardinals, birch trees, spruce twigs, snowflakes and holly berries create a magical winter wonderland that will have you ready to snuggle up while you watch the snow fall. In beautiful shades of deep red, teal, blue and gray, this collection will be perfect for home decor that can stay out all winter long. This collection will be in stores July 2021 - make sure to let your local quilt shop know you’d love to see it in their store!
I think my favorite prints in this collection are the birch trees with the cardinals and the snowflakes. I’m also so happy with the deep red shades and hope you love them as much as I do.
I had a feeling this collection would look great in my Radiance pattern, and I was right! Below is a close up of the 36” version I made. It’s perfect for hanging on the wall. You can find the Radiance pattern here.
Here you can see a close up of the Snowflakes and Flurries prints. Those flurries are such a great background option!
I designed two new quilts to go with the Winterland collection and the first one is Stargaze shown below. This 63” throw size quilt is fat quarter friendly and I just love the blocks and secondary pattern created with the sashing and cornerstones. You can see that even better in the second photo.
The Stargaze pattern also includes instructions to make a table runner that finishes at 21” x 63”. Below is a close up of the one that was on our table this winter. You can find the Stargaze pattern here.
The second pattern I designed for the Winterland collection is called Snowfall. This one is my favorite!! I just love how the feathered star blocks look paired up with the strip pieced border and cornerstones. It’s such a great winter quilt in the blue and teals, but I had to test it out in the red and whites from the collection as well (see below). It’s so good!!
There is just something special about a red and white quilt! I’m thrilled to have a few prints in this collection that are perfect for using in these two color classic quilts.
What I’m most excited about for this Snowfall pattern is that we will be doing a Snowfall Sew Along starting in August 2021 (after the fabric has arrived in stores). I know it looks very complicated, but I we will break the blocks out into steps and I’ll share a video each week with tips and tricks to let you see how this quilt comes together. All you need to do is purchase the pattern (found here) and sign up to join the Snowfall Sew Along. Starting in August I will be sending a weekly email to those who sign up with the video link and I am also working on some prizes!! I sure hope you join me on the sew along.
Here’s a video that will be going live on Riley Blake Design’s virtual quilt market this weekend showcasing Winterland, but you get a sneak peek here!
I’m looking forward to seeing what all you create with Winterland. Let me know your ideas!
