Glow Up {a fat quarter quilt pattern}
I love Halloween quilts!! Maybe itās because I love the color orange, but whatever the reason, I seem to want to make a new one every year. I have had this Bad to the Bone fat quarter bundle for over a year now and Iām so happy to finally have it sewn up into a quilt. What is extra special about this fabric collection is that it has some silver metallic spider webs and glow in the dark skeletons and spooky words. How fun is that?
With the larger sized quilt blocks and glow in the dark fabric, I figured Glow Up was a perfect name for this quilt. Itās a fat quarter friendly pattern and each block is made up of only half square triangles. By changing the direction of the blocks, it kind of gives the effect of 4 GIANT blocks in this quilt.
I also love the black and white gingham fabric that I used for cornerstones between the blocks and also the matching binding. Such a perfect way to finish off this quilt.
The dancing skeletons, silver spiderwebs and bats scattered across this quilt just make me smile and ready to hand out some candy to cute little kiddos all dressed up on Halloween.
For the quilting I decided to use a non-angular or geometric design since the quilt design itself is all hard lines. The Soho swirls soften it up well.
I love this striking quilt design and am already planning what fabric I could use to make another version.
Thanks for stopping by,
