I have some exciting news to share (especially for my local quilting friends!!). I was asked by the Indiana Quilters Trail quilt shop owners to design this year’s shop hop quilt!! Let me introduce to you the Circle City Sampler quilt. If you aren’t familiar with Indianapolis, it is often called the “Circle City” and the seven quilt shops that make up the Indiana Quilters Trail are all located in central Indiana (in and around Indianapolis).

I have wanted to design a modern sampler quilt for a number of years and this was the perfect opportunity. I’ve put together some of my favorite traditional blocks and mixed them with some newly designed modern blocks and I am in love with the result.

When I was designing the quilt, I chose this particular color palette and was expecting the quilt shops to choose some print fabrics along this color scheme, however once they saw the finished design, they decided to stick with solids instead :)

If you’ve been around here long, you know that these are absolutely “my” colors! Doesn’t this quilt just scream summer to you?!?

Okay, now for some details on the Shop Hop.

Who + Why: Seven central Indiana quilt stores showcase one quilt with the opportunity for you to experience friendship, camaraderie, beauty, artistry, and the chance to win big prizes.

What: This year’s theme of the Indiana Quilters Trail is the Circle City Sampler. Travel around to seven stores and get your passport stamped for a chance to win prizes. This is going to be one spectacular weekend. Each shop will offer a portion of the pattern with kits that when added together create the complete quilt top. When you purchase the passport, it provides an opportunity to track your trek and enter to win gift certificates from each of the shops. Wait, there’s more! After the shop hop ends you will have a coupon from each shop to use on your next visit.

When: March 22-25, 2023, each store will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and ready to welcome a merry crew of Midwest quilters.
