Sparkle Quilt Tutorial
I have always loved the fabrics designed by American Jane with their primary colors and vintage style prints, so when the latest collection, Always in Season hit the stores, I knew I wanted to grab a fat quarter bundle.
After admiring these fabrics for a bit, I realized that the collection has some really great low volume prints. I decided that I’d like to showcase some of them in alternating blocks to help make the bright primary prints pop even more.
The result is this super sweet quilt called Sparkle. The star blocks are a standard Ohio Star block and I opted to set them on point and pair them with oversized low volume quarter square triangle blocks. I love how it turned out! It’s so bright and cheery.
Here is a detailed shot to show the adorable low volume prints. The quilting design I chose is called Time Warp - this one always creates such beautiful movement across the quilt!
For the backing I chose my favorite green floral from the collection. This particular shade of green is just gorgeous! And I wrapped it up in the perfect plaid binding.
I also think this pattern would look fantastic in Christmas prints, what do you think?!
This quilt finishes at 51” x 68” which is a great throw size. In the video tutorial below, I share how to make both of the blocks in this quilt.
