Candy Cornucopia Quilt Block

I know this Halloween candy is a bit controversial - people either love it or they hate it. I for one LOVE candy corn!! I also adore this cute quilt block that I designed around those yummy little candies.

Say hello to Candy Cornucopia!

Cornucopia is defined as “an abundant supply good things” and this quilt block has an abundant supply of cuteness if you ask me!

And what’s even more fun about this block is that you can easily alter the entire look, just by rotating the direction of the half square triangles in the corners of the block. Check out an alternate layout option below.

I pulled fabric from my stash and scrap bins and decided to make four blocks, then add 2” finished sashing and cornerstones to create this cute table runner. I’m hoping to get it quilted and bound this weekend so I can put it on the table with a large bowl of candy corn on top!

And here is how the table runner would look using the alternate block layout. With the sashing, the table runner finishes at 16” x 58”.

And if you’d like to make more of these blocks to piece into a quilt, here are a couple of options (these finish at 58” x 72”).
