Quilted Pillow {a teacher thank you gift}

It's that time of year again...teacher thank you gifts! As summer is quickly approaching, Samuel and I realized that we needed to figure out the perfect gift for his first grade teacher.  We had an open house and art fair this week and she prepared a video of the kids throughout the year which brought tears to my eyes.  She has been so wonderful and deserves something special. 20130526-210020.jpg

We decided a pillow would be a great addition to the rocking chair she has in the classroom.  You can see Samuel sneaking a little rock in while we were checking out the classroom.

I used 4 strips from a Simply Color ombré solids jelly roll cut into 2 1/2" squares.  Samuel choose the colors and we put them into a "plus" design which is fitting because math is his favorite subject.

For the back we chose Robert Kaufman's Modern numbers print.

I hope she enjoys her gift as much as we enjoyed making it!
