X Marks The Spot {a finished quilt and pattern!}

Let me introduce you to my latest quilt, X Marks the Spot. X Marks the Spot

I cannot believe that it was almost 2 years ago when I first shared this quilt top with you!  Why did I let it take so long to finish it up?  At least this time it wasn't folded up in a storage bin, but instead it has been hanging (all fancy like with painter's tape) in my sewing room :)

I quilted it using Aurifil 50 wt. 4241 (black) and just echoed some of the lines of the star.  I loved the striking design made with the fabric so much that I really didn't want to mess or muck it up with a lot of complicated quilting.

This quilt was made with the amazingly gorgeous Oakshott Lipari bundle.  Truly, you need to see this fabric in person to really appreciate how awesome it is.

The pattern is one I came up with while messing around trying to find a very simple paper pieced block.  I liked the X block, but LOVED the way the quilt changed when I mixed up the colors in the block to make a completely different X stand out on this quilt.

You can get your own copy of the pattern in my Craftsy shop here.  I have had several people ask for the pattern, so I decided to make one up and share.  I hope you enjoy it and I'd love to see anything you make with any of my patterns/tutorials.  Please add them to my new Flickr group:  https://www.flickr.com/groups/sewingwithmaterialgirl/

Thanks again for stopping by,

Amanda
