A little hand embroidery
Wow...I can't believe it's been almost a month since I've blogged! It's funny how sometimes life just takes over and you can't find the time (or energy) to accomplish all you set out to do. Well, in the last month I have done some sewing, but I also took a wonderful vacation with my family and did pretty much nothing but relax. It was awesome. Before our road trip I pulled this adorable embroidery pattern out of my stash and selected some thread that fit my mood.
I think the inspiration for the color palette was the gorgeous colors on the trees this time of year. Fall really is my favorite. The below photo was taken when we returned home of my favorite tree in our yard. I named him "George" years ago when we moved in. I love the way he's showing off his glorious colors as the sun is starting to set :) He's really quite impressive.
And here is my finished embroidery. I love it! I'm still not sure what I'll do with this piece, but my original plan was to make it into a pillow cover. For now it is hanging on my design wall until I make the final decision.
The pattern is Aunt Martha's Woodland and I picked it up at Jo-Ann's a few years ago.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
