All Back to Mine {a finished quilt and cushion cover}
I'm a little late on this post, but last week Issue 15 of Love Patchwork & Quilting hit the stands in the UK and I have a quilt and cushion in it! Check out the cover, isn't Karen's quilt gorgeous? But honestly, I'm totally in love with the Dala Horse...SO CUTE!!! Anyone want to make me one of those?!?! ;-)
This issue is once again chop full of fabulous projects. And here is my quilt "All Back to Mine". It is modern twist on the Old Maid's Puzzle block using midnight blue for the background and bright orange with pops of hot pink inspired by the night sky. The "party" theme in this issue takes you back home to snuggle under this bright quilt with a nice hot cup of cocoa. Sounds good to me!
I quilted this one with diagonal straight lines using Aurifil 50 wt. #2785 (very dark navy) and love that it isn't so dense and still leaves the quilt feeling soft and snuggle-worthy.
Along with the quilt, I share a large cushion cover with the same pattern, just different colors. I can't wait for this to get back home...I have plans to put this baby on my bed for snuggle time with my boys :) For the quilting on this I used Aurifil 50 wt. #1148 (light jade) in a diagonal cross-hatch pattern. I love the extra pop of color it makes against the dark blue background.
So, if you're in the UK, go on out and pick up a copy! If you are in the US, it won't be in stores for a few more weeks. I know you can purchase it at JoAnn's, Barnes & Noble and Books-a-Million. Or you can pick up a subscription by clicking here.
Thanks so much for stopping by,
Amanda
