Beluga {a finished quilt and publication!}
I'm super excited to introduce my latest quilt design, Beluga. I've had this sketched up for quite a while and was thrilled when Love Patchwork & Quilting was interested in publishing it in their magazine.
I think the design looks like beads (with the "holes" in the center) and that is where I came up with the name. :)
Both of the fabrics in this quilt are from Art Gallery's Denim Studio collection. It is so soft and a wonderful light chambray weight. The Nectarine Sunrise color makes my heart sing! The "black" is called Wicked Sky and is a perfect background to make the nectarine pop.
I sent this one off to be quilted by Teresa of Quilting is My Bliss. I was giddy when she sent me the photo after it was finished. Isn't the quilting gorgeous?!? Her talent amazes me.
And here is a photo from Love Patchwork & Quliting. Again, I love how they style the quilts in their publication.
You can find the pattern instructions in their Issue 50 (on UK newsstands now and in US in approximately 4-6 weeks).
And as a special bonus for their 50th issue, you will get a free block book with 32 new block designs for you to try.
I'll be making my favorite block from the book and sharing it this weekend. You can follow the hashtag #lpq32blocksSAL to see what others are creating and sew along!
