Today I’m happy to share a new book with you. Love Flying Geese is a compilation book from C&T Publishing of 27 quilt projects that were originally seen in Love Patchwork and Quilting magazine. If you’ve been around here for long, then you know how fond I am of the folks at LPQ and their magazine. You also know that I’m a huge fan of flying geese! It’s clear to see from the book that I’m not the only quilt designer who loves to make flying geese. Some of my fellow quilting friends have four or even TEN projects in this book!

I have two projects in the book and was thrilled to see that my very first project for LPQ, Heading South, made the cover!

This is still one of my favorite quilt finishes. It’s also one of my most popular quilt patterns. I just love seeing this one come together in other people’s fabric choices. There hasn’t been one that didn’t turn out beautifully!

One of the things I really love about LPQ (and this book) is the photography. They always make each quilt look amazing, which in turn makes me want to make each quilt!

As a little reminder, when piecing the Heading South quilt, you will have five remaining large geese. I’ve created a tutorial for a fun little table topper you can create using those leftover geese. Click here for the tutorial.

The second quilt design I have in the book is Star Crossing. I love the single, extra large block in this design. It takes the traditional flying geese block and turns it into a more modern quilt.
