Textured Stripes {a finished quilt!}

Our 14 year old son (who is now 6’1” tall) got a new queen sized bed last year and has been borrowing some of our quilts to use on his bed. I told him I’d make a new quilt for his bed and after much pondering and discussion, he decided he wanted a simple stripe design similar to how we painted the stripes on the walls in his room.

When I saw the colors of the new Texture prints in Sandy Gervais’ Ready Set Splash fabric collection, I knew they would be great for this simple stripe design.

I also kept the quilting simple with straight lines and switched the thread colors to coordinate with each print so it blends right in.

The quilt finishes at 80” x 96” and is next to impossible to photograph flat without multiple people on hand, but this gives you an idea on my boy’s back.

And I think this smile means he approves :)
