Liberty Lights Table Runner
Pull out your scrap bins because I have the perfect project to celebrate America’s 250th!
The Liberty Lights table runner is a fun yet simple design that allows the reds and blues to “wave” across the quilt top and is accentuated with white stars.
This is a beginner friendly pattern and is the perfect quick make. You can easily whip this together in a day.
I have lots of reds and blues in my scrap bins and for the stars I opted to go scrappy as well and pull from my low volume bin. Scrappy quilts are always a favorite, especially when they are in a cohesive color palette.
For something different, I chose to tie dye my white on white Triangulate print from Riley Blake Designs Lights On collection. I love how it turned out and that you can still see the white triangles through the tie dye. I made sure to pre-wash the fabric and have washed it a couple of times since I tie dyed it to be sure the colors won’t fade. Since this is a holiday themed table runner, it won’t get daily use all year, so won’t need to be washed quite as much. When I do wash it, I will also use Shout Color Catchers. These are always on hand at our house and I use them EVERY time I wash a quilt for the first time.
My table runner finishes at 12” x 42”, but you could easily make a longer runner by just repeating the design and adding more stars. If you make one, I’d love to see it! Please tag me on social media or send me an email.
