Charm Pack Quilt Patterns
I’m a big fan of pre-cut quilt fabric. For one, most of the cutting is already done for you and two, it also allows you to get a little bit of each fabric from a collection. This gives you great variety in prints and helps to ensure your fabrics will all coordinate.
One of the best pre-cut for beginners is the Charm Pack or 5” squares. I’ve assembled SEVEN of my favorite charm pack projects here to give you lots of inspiration on creating with these cute little squares.
The Star Charms table runner finishes at 13.5” x 67.5”. All you need to make this beauty is one charm pack along with background fabric to create a total of (5) star blocks. This is a great beginner pattern and can easily be made in a day.
The Daydreams mini quilt is a striking design and I still have this hanging in a prominent spot in my sewing studio. The mini quilt finishes at 24” and is a great pattern to enhance your piecing skills while making tiny half square triangles.
The Charming Triangles baby quilt finishes at 40” square and offers a ton of design layout options with the half square triangles (stripes, chevron, pinwheels, herringbone, etc.). This is a great last minute make for your next baby shower.
Interweave is another baby/crib sized quilt that finishes at 42” x 46”. The layout for these blocks creates a fun woven design and is a fantastic quilt pattern for beginner quilters.
The Charming Hexagons table topper is such a fun project to make with those holiday themed pre-cut squares. You will learn how to piece these hexagons with your sewing machine (no english paper piecing templates or hand sewing needed!).
The Disappearing Four Patch is probably my very favorite charm square quilt pattern. In this tutorial, I show you how to transform a basic four patch block into these beautiful and intricate looking blocks. You can make a baby sized quilt like the one shown or make more blocks and increase it to your desired quilt size!
Disperse is another striking quilt design that finishes at 42” square. This pattern requires two charm packs along with some background fabric. The directional layout of the half square and quarter square triangles creates fantastic movement across the quilt.
I hope these patterns help inspire you to pull out your favorite charm pack and turn it into something beautiful.
