Simple Stripes (and Sharks!) Baby Quilt

I used my Simple Stripe Baby Quilt tutorial to create a new quilt for a friend’s sweet baby boy.

I love the simple design of this quilt pattern for creating a more modern baby quilt.

Keeping with straight lines for the quilting adds to the modern element and I also chose to switch thread colors for the different color stripes to help the quilting blend right into the quilt without distracting from the design itself.

The fabrics I used on the front of the quilt are all from Sandy Gervais Texture basic line. The colors I chose were Denim, Slate, Navy and Glacier. And for the back, I found the PERFECT print in Citrus & Mint’s new collection called Riptide. Doesn’t it coordinate so well?? It’s a match made in little boy heaven if you ask me :). The Riptide collection will be in stores next month.

There are some other great prints in the Riptide collection that I’m hoping to use in a project or two in the coming months. Until then, I’m just thrilled to have a quilt that I started and completed in the same day! Instant gratification at its finest.
